Jubilee of the Poor

The Jubilee of the Poor is an event of great significance within the context of the Jubilee of Mercy, proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2015. This special moment is dedicated to the poor and marginalized of society, offering them an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and solidarity.

During the Jubilee of the Poor, events and initiatives are organized to raise awareness about the daily challenges faced by the poor and to promote concrete actions to combat poverty and social exclusion. Free meals, medical and legal assistance are offered, and moments of sharing and listening to the life stories of the poor are organized.

This event is also an opportunity to recognize the dignity and intrinsic value of every person, regardless of their social status or economic conditions. It celebrates the richness of faith and hope that the poor carry within them, despite the difficulties and hardships they face.

The Jubilee of the Poor testifies to the Church’s commitment to defending the rights of the poor and promoting a more just and solidarity-based society. Through this event, the Church invites everyone to recognize the presence of Christ in the poor and to commit concretely to alleviating their suffering and respecting their dignity.
