Jubilee of Families, Grandparents, and Elderly

The Jubilee of Families, Grandparents, and Elderly is a special occasion within the context of the Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2015. This special event is dedicated to celebrating family ties and respecting and appreciating the elderly in society and in the Church.

During the Jubilee of Families, Grandparents, and Elderly, a series of initiatives are organized to strengthen family bonds and promote respect and love for the elderly. This includes family prayer meetings, moments of sharing and testimonies from families, as well as cultural and leisure activities suitable for the elderly.

This event offers families the opportunity to renew their commitment to the values of love, solidarity, and forgiveness. It is a moment of reflection and spiritual growth, during which efforts are made to strengthen the relationship with God and promote peace and harmony within families.

The Jubilee of Families, Grandparents, and Elderly is also an opportunity to reflect on the fundamental role that the elderly play in the life of the Church and society. The elderly are called to be witnesses of faith and wisdom, transmitting to future generations the spiritual and cultural values that enrich the lives of all.

This event demonstrates the Church’s commitment to promoting a culture of respect and solidarity across generations. Through the Jubilee of Families, Grandparents, and Elderly, the Church invites everyone to recognize the value and importance of family and the elderly in building a fairer and more fraternal society.
